Important Changes at the Brisbane South Toy Library (New Flooring)

Did you hear? The Brisbane South Toy Library has received funding to have our floor refurbished.  Say goodbye to the old hard concrete as it’s covered with comfy carpet tiles to make the space (a little) quieter and (a lot) more welcoming for our member families!

But, it also means lots of hard work and preparation. Our team will pack all items and temporarily place them in temporary storage during this work.  To make this happen we need:

  • Moving Boxes

  • Trolleys

  • Volunteers

Moving Boxes & Trolleys Required

On 24 & 25 October all items in the library will be packed, shelves dismantled and temporarily placed in a container in the car park while the work is done.

We need:

  • packing boxes** - large packing boxes needed for our toys, games and puzzles.

  • all-purpose trolleys**, hand and/or platform trolleys

  • **If you would like your trolleys and boxes returned to you, please write your name and phone number on them clearly.

These can be delivered to the library on Saturday 19 October or Thursday 24 October, during our Open Sessions. Named boxes and trolleys will be returned on or after 01 November 2024.

Volunteers Required to Pack Toys

Important Dates

  • Pack and move toys and shelves, on:

  • Thursday 24 October – 12 noon to 3pm

  • Friday 25 October – 8am to 12noon

And move them back in

  • Thursday 31 October - 12 noon to 3pm

  • Friday 01 November - 8am to 12noon

Note; all times are flexible and will depend on the number of volunteers, etc

 Volunteers Needed: Please check your schedules and see if you can help out on any of the above days/times.

Register your availability in our Calendar in SeTLS, or just turn up for any length of time.  Thank you for your support and assistance in this important upgrade to our toy library.

  • Open session as usual on Thursday 24 October.
    BONUS: *Members can borrow ONE additional large item*

  • Toy library CLOSED on Thursday 31 October

  • Normal Open Session on Saturday 02 November
